URBAN EXTRAVAGANCE

Here I am again. With a post where for a second my mind may dream away in the urban part of our world. My love for cities is high, very high. It is the place where trends are born, where the streets are filled with liveliness, the place where the fashion is so perfectly outspoken. When I’m in a big city I feel like everybody is chasing their dreams. People have this mentality which is screaming: ‘the sky is the limit’. I am very much inspired by this phrase. Every single day this is the mentality I try to remember and live by.

As I write, I realized I still wanted to share with you an amazing event I attended. Exactly one month ago, the 10th of September, Vogue Fashion Night Out took place in Amsterdam. The most luxurious streets of A’dam were filled with style, joy and passion for fashion. It was Vogue who ruled the city. Via the vogue.nl site I discovered that a few readers had the chance to meet the online editors of the Dutch Vogue. In a split second I opened my laptop and wrote my motivation text. I was jumping up and down from excitement when I got a mail back from Vogue. I was invited to visit the minds behind the most influential website of Netherlands: Pauline and Zoë. Once at the event I couldn’t wait to ask them my really, really urgent questions! We had an amazing chat about various topics, reaching from ‘how the typical day of a Vogue editor looks like’ to ‘why Karl Lagerfeld loves paper and always will love it’. I walked out of the Hugo Boss store (the locations of this event, wauw) with a smile bigger than big! I felt I met inspirational people that have exactly the same interests and thoughts as I have. Magical moment.

This said, I want to share with you this very urban photos. ‘Extravagance’. This is the word I thought about when I saw this amazing scarf. I decided to combine this huge scarf with a modern and urban cap and some block-heels which are perfect when running around town. The heels won’t get stuck in the relief of the floor and they are comfortable when running to catch that train, trust me, I can tell from experience, hehe. That day, Hannah and I had a productive shooting day and to celebrate it all we decided to indulge maximally on a big portion of ice cream. X
